The fourth annual Architectural Woodwork Manufacturers Association (AWMAC) Ontario Awards 2009 took place this past April at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto. More than 50 members of the architectural and design community were on hand to celebrate outstanding achievement in the design, manufacture and supply of architectural woodwork.
The night also featured speakers including Jack Diamond, principal architect of the Four Seasons Centre, the first theatre in Canada built specifically for opera and ballet performances.
The annual event is a chance, says Dylan Kinch, president of the Ontario Chapter, “to showcase the quality of work that members of AWMAC produce to the design community and to have the chance to meet with industry associates and fellow woodworkers.” The awards night honours work in three categories: projects $100,000 to $250,000; $250,000-plus; and Guarantee Inspection Service (GIS) project.
