ZOW 2010 in Italy cancelled |
|
Survey Marketing & Consulting srl, Rimini/Italy, have announced the cancellation of this year’s ZOW Italy, a show for the furniture supplies and interior design sector. The event had been scheduled to take place in Verona in October 2010.
Organizers of Zow Italy had recently relocated the show. “The fact that last year’s move from the particularly problematic trade fair location of Pordenone to Verona, which is in a much better location and features outstanding exhibition halls, happened to coincide with the global financial crisis resulted in criticism on the market,” said ZOW founder Peter H. Meyer.
ZOW managing director Romano Ugolini says that rather than attend trade fairs this year, it makes more sense to invest in growing foreign markets. “Given the current situation on the Italian furniture market, we would not expect the trade fair to be a success."
ZOW Italy will return in 2011 with a new show concept.
In the meantime, ZOW’s dispute with rival fair Sicam in Pordenone on the grounds of copyright infringements is set to continue at the court in Trieste.
