1. New edgebanders

Homag has introduced two new models, 1440 F2C and 1440 FGC, in its Ambition 1400 Series of edgebanders. Both models are equipped with a unique twin motor multi-functional corner rounding unit for complete processing of panels up to 60mm. The rough trimming unit in the Ambition 1440 F2C offers an optimum trimming result, especially where heavy-duty hogging is required on thicker edges, by using a rough trimming unit prior to final finish trimming. The unit is fitted with two high-powered motors which are ideally configured for processing wooden edges up to 8mm in thickness.

2. Automatic setting

 Italian-made Tecnoma model NT5 Sprint series of edgebanders available through Continental Machinery are now equipped with automatic setting of the edge-trimming station as well as 0°-15° tilting of the end-trimming mechanism, both controlled from the control panel. Standard features include 5mm edge-trimming capacity and THK mechanism with two blades for end-trimming. The edgebanders are also available with a pre-milling station.

3. Ease of operation

Felder Group Canada has introduced the new G400 Edgebander. The G400 combines accuracy with ease of operation, and long-term durability. Key features include an LCD control panel, gear driven feeder system running at 9m/min, workpiece height from 8 – 45mm (up to 1 ¾”), edge thickness from 0.4 – 3mm, double saw end trimming, top and bottom trimming units all with true high frequency motors, including buffing units, plus an open space for optional scraping unit.

5. Flexible edgebander

IMA’s Advantage 70/700 is a highly flexible machine designed for the woodworking shop.
