The Interior Design Show recently celebrated its 13th edition at Toronto’s Metro Convention Centre with some 300 exhibitors showing unique products for home and business.
The four-day event, Jan. 27 to 30, which began with a big opening gala Thursday evening, featured its traditional professional day on Friday, which was reserved for members of the design trade, industry and students. That was followed Saturday and Sunday by general admission for the public.
IDS inspires, educates and exposes professionals and the general public to the latest in products, trends and designs both from a domestic and international perspective.
In addition to sold-out floor exhibits and varied programming, the event also featured numerous guest speakers, booth and design awards and a diverse group of designers, artists and style makers.
Conversations in Design, IDS’ second annual all-day design symposium provided a glimpse of new and alternative practices, materials, technologies and products.
The symposium is a great meeting of minds: well over 300 business executives, captains of industry, architects, interior, industrial and graphic designers, museum professionals, academics, and students attend and join the conversation to stay current with the latest ideas.
This year’s event also challenged audiences “to think outside the box, and ultimately illuminate and inspire on the provocative subject of crowdsourcing creativity and community.”
