Woodworking professionals attending the Biesse and Intermac Canada One2One Spring event in Toronto April 19 and 20 had a chance to check out the latest equipment and talk with industry experts.
The event presented a unique opportunity to learn proven strategies and see the company’s latest and most innovative technologies in action.
One2One events are held at the company’s Charlotte, N.C., Toronto, Ont., Montreal, Que. and Vancouver, B.C facilities and offer a chance to see live machine demos and gain hands-on learning experience.
The Toronto event saw the official introduction to Canada of the Biesse Skipper V 31, a solution for just-in-time production with zero set-up time and fully automatic panel handling. New to North America, the compact and rigid Skipper V 31 features vertical panel handling and a small footprint, and offers a real alternative for smaller shops.
Matt Fleming, Product Area Manager Biesse Canada, said the machine is the ideal solution to provide maximum flexibility and performance in a small space. “It would also be beneficial for any shop where you don’t want to tie up your traditional CNC,” Fleming says.
Biesse also featured the Rover Skill 15.36 G. While not a new machine, the configuration shown at the One2One event showcased the Rover’s flexibility as part of a completely modular machining centre with added automation front and back.
Fleming said the machine offers a lot of flexibility and can grow with the shop with varying levels of automation (from infeed to labeling) being added as future use and productivity increases demand.
