Felder Group Canada is expanding

Felder Group Canada is expanding its Ontario showroom.

Josef Junker, Felder Group’s export manager for Canada and Australia says that as the result of steady growth – the company has continued to grow right through the recession – they have outgrown their Mississauga showroom and offices and plan to expand from the current 5,000 sq. ft. facility to one offering about 8,000 sq. ft.

“We have not finalized the location yet, but we will stay in the general vicinity of our current offices,” Junker says.

Felder Group opened its Mississauga, Ont. location in 2007, but has been in Canada for 11 years. The company has eight regional offices across the country with showrooms in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.

With its comprehensive lineup of more than 100 machine types, Felder Group’s range goes from hobby and small business machines (Hammer) to Format-4 industrial machines and includes panel saws, planers, moulders, HYBRID combination machines, edgebanders, CNC machining centres and more.

Felder machines are built to last using heavy-duty cast components and Junker says people appreciate and want that kind of quality.

Open house

And during the company’s recent open house (May 3-5) they went to great length to let customers see that quality. A number of machines were ‘opened up’ just for this event for special customer demonstrations and seminars.

“We opened up a number of machines, others were lifted up and set-up on mirrors because we wanted people to be able to look inside the machines so they can see the components and the quality materials we are using,” Junker says. “We are proud to show off the machines and we are always trying to make these events more useful for owners and new customers.”

He added that the open house had extended hours in order to give people a chance to come after work. “Everybody is busy and we are trying to accommodate their schedules,” he says.

There was a steady flow of people and many took part in the service and maintenance workshops offered for owners.
