The WMMA awarded Tom Onsrud of C.R. Onsrud, the Baldwin Award for his outstanding contribution to the wood products industry.
Delray Beach, Florida was the site for the 2012 Wood Industry Conference hosted by three U.S. industry associations AWFS, WMMA and WMIA in early May.
More than 160 industry professionals attended the upbeat four-day event where WMMA and WMIA announced their deal to acquire control of IWF.
Industry forums, economic discussions and forecasts, Skype shop tours and an afternoon contact table session made for a productive get together and many great networking opportunities.
The industry also took time out to recognize some of its members that stood out for great achievement in their respective fields. Among them the Innovator Award which was presented to Jeff Boher of Premier Hardwood Products.
The educator Award went to Blum for its work and contribution to its apprenticeship program. Blum’s Karl Ruedisser and Andreas Thurner accepted the award.
The WMIA presented Greg Larson of Timesavers, Inc., its Partner of the Year Award for exemplifying the spirit of partnership, in their dealings with woodworking machinery distributors.
