Vance Communications Canada announces that the 2012 edition of Salon Industriel du Bois Ouvré (SIBO) will not be held. SIBO had been scheduled to take place October 18-19 at Forzani Place in Laval, Quebec.
“While past surveys had indicated a desire for Quebec to have its own industrial woodworking show, the reality is that under current conditions several key industry suppliers and industry associations weren’t in a position to be actively involved in a provincial trade show,” said Steve Reiss, Vice President of Vance. “We’re disappointed to have to make this decision but we have to respect the mood of the market. We are grateful to the suppliers, associations, media partners and many others who have been supportive of SIBO.
“Our efforts continue to be focused on Canada’s national woodworking show, the Woodworking Machinery & Supply Expo (WMS), set for October 24-26, 2013 at the International Centre in Toronto, and for related trade show and conference opportunities to serve and support the wood products industry,” Reiss said.
