HOMAG City at LIGNA.

LIGNA 2013 is just around the corner and that means some 1,650 exhibitors from 50 countries are poised to showcase their latest products and innovations to a worldwide audience
LIGNA is the most important event for the timber and woodworking industry and exhibitors are ready with an extensive lineup of proven as well as new and innovative products and technology.
As is usual for this event, visitors can expect LIGNA to impress with a wide array of new product innovations.
“The leading machinery manufacturers time their innovation cycles to coincide with LIGNA. They choose to launch new products at LIGNA because they know the fair is a powerful gateway to the world’s key markets,” said Dr. Jochen Köckler, Managing Board member at Deutsche Messe AG.
“This also means visitors to LIGNA can expect to see all the key innovations that will shape their industry over the next two years.”
LIGNA 2013 will be held May 6-10, in Hannover, Germany and will showcase the current state of the art in machinery and equipment for all areas of the wood value chain – from forestry and primary timber processing in the sawmill and reconstituted wood products industries, to secondary processing in the woodworking trades and furniture industry, right through to wood-based energy production. LIGNA is the world’s most internationally representative tradeshow for the forestry and wood industries, drawing more than half of its exhibitors from outside Germany.
Versatile, highly customizable production processes and sophisticated control systems are key drivers of machinery innovation in the wood processing and woodworking industry and therefore feature prominently throughout the exhibition halls at LIGNA. The show’s exhibitors offer the production flexibility and efficiency solutions that wood processors and woodworkers need in order to meet growing demand for highly tailored yet affordably priced products and to make their production operations more sustainable and future-proof.
Surface finishing technology is another one of the top themes at this year’s LIGNA. The displays for this theme area are housed in halls 16 and 17 and will feature the latest application technology, new printing techniques and systems for the seamless application of veneers to surfaces and much more.
This year, LIGNA will also showcase numerous wood bioenergy solutions, lightweight construction, and this year’s “Handwerk, Holz und mehr,” the show-within-a-show for the joinery and cabinetmaking trades, will have a special focus on windows and machinery, tools and materials for window production.
The exhibition program at LIGNA 2013 is rounded out by an array of special displays, forums and conferences.
And to keep it all nicely organized, LIGNA once again offers its LIGNA smartphone app for free download. The app allows visitors to use their smartphones to locate exhibitors and find their way around the large fair via interactive maps of the exhibition halls.
