SCM Group Canada held an SCM Days open house and educational event at its new headquarters and showroom in Mississauga, Ont. May 2-3.
Richard Bluteau, manager at SCM Group Canada, said he was pleased with the event.
“You always want more people to come out,” he said, “but I think we had a good event and I am pleased with the success and the many positive comments we received about our new facility.
“It really shows off what we have to offer and people told me they were impressed with it. It has also been a very well received by all our staff members.
“We had around 40 customers stop in to see the machines in action and we also sold a number of machines.
During the two-day event,
SCM specialists conducted hands-on educational seminars on the advantages of using the latest technology in SCM’s nested-based machining centers, including the New Pratix S nesting router, Pratix N with unloading system, the reliable series of SCM edgebanders, as well as a full range of other woodworking equipment.
SCM at WMS
And at a press event at LIGNA in Hannover, Germany last week, Bluteau said that the company has also just signed up as an exhibitor at the WMS show (Woodworking Machinery & Supply Expo) in Toronto, October 24-26.
“We have decided that it is important for us to be there and we will take all of our smaller machines to really show them off,” he said.
