AWFS Fair posts strong opening day.
This year’s edition of AWFS Fair Las Vegas is off to a strong start with busy aisles on opening day, more exhibitors and more exhibition space.
“We are very excited about the strong attendance we have seen on the first day,” says Angelo Gangone, Executive Vice President of AWFS.
“And the new show configuration is fantastic, we have opened up the halls and it is like one big space now, almost like a mall with anchor tenants strategically located throughout and that really helps bring the show together.”
Gangone adds the show is larger, by nearly 12 per cent, from the previous event and they have seen a real increase in early registrations that continued to build right until opening day.
“Obviously it is still early, but attendance is looking really very strong and we are hearing from many exhibitors that they’ve heard from their customers that they are ready to come here and make some deals.
Opening day is usually not a strong day, at any show, but Wednesday saw strong attendance and organizers and exhibitors said they were pleased with the early results.
Thousands of visitors are expected to see the latest machinery technology and innovations from more than 500 exhibitors.
There are new product showcases, the new Visionary Awards (formerly called the Sequoia Awards) with 64 products from 48 finalists vying for top honors and of course there is an extensive seminar program.
Show attendees also have a chance to see top U.S. cabinetmaking students compete for the chance to represent the U.S at the WorldSkills Competition and there a showcase featuring Fresh Wood Student Awards winners’ designs. The winners will be announced Friday afternoon.
“We are looking forward to a very strong show and judging by the first day we are well on our way to having a good events,” Gangone says.
