Felder Group Ontario recently welcomed customers and woodworkers to its Fall Open House, Oct 31 - Nov. 2, at its newly expanded showroom at 1745 Meyerside Drive in Mississauga.
“This was a great opportunity to welcome existing and new customers to our larger facility and show them the wide variety of quality machines we have to offer,” said Josef Junker, Felder Group’s export manager for Canada and Australia.
“Thanks to steady growth in our Ontario market and especially right here in the Greater Toronto Area, we were able to expand out showroom again, just one year after our last expansion.”
Junker says the additional space will allow them to stock even more machines than before and that in turn will enable them to be more responsive to customer needs.
With its comprehensive lineup of more than 130 machine types, Felder Group’s range goes from hobby and small business machines (Hammer) to Format-4 industrial machines and includes panel saws, planers, moulders, HYBRID combination machines, edgebanders, CNC machining centres and more.
Junker says most of the growth is coming from news customers, but repeat business from existing clients is growing steadily as well and already makes up some 30 per cent of their total, a strong indicator he says that they are on the right track.
“That number also gives us the confidence to continue to invest strongly in this market,” he says, “and its one way we are further improving our services.
Thanks to our expansion, we are now able to stock more than 15 of our best sellers continually, which means we can deliver new machines much more quickly to our customers.”
Felder machines are not the cheapest, but Junker says once people take the time to take a closer look, they realize what they are getting and they don’t mind paying for the quality.
Then there is the commitment to service excellence. All Felder technicians are factory trained and work directly for the company. They are Felder experts and only serve their machines.
One of the big attractions, and first shown at WMS 2013 last month, is Felder’s new machine solution, the Format-4 H-08 CNC, which is available in 4x8 and 5x10.
“It’s new in Canada and I’ve had a number of people ask me why it took us so long to offer this solution,” Junker says with a smile.
“They are glad we can now offer them a Felder solution for their CNC needs.
The open house was a success and they even had to extend their hours as people kept coming in well into the evenings.
“We were very happy with the open house,” Junker says. We had a lot of visitors as well as some potential new customers. And we even had people who just saw us at WMS come in. They wanted to take a closer look at our lineup. It was a good event for us, very encouraging.”
