AWMAC Ontario celebrates members' excellence

The Ontario chapter of the Architectural Woodwork Manufacturers Association of Canada (AWMAC) recently celebrated the excellence of Ontario’s architectural woodworking community.
A special awards ceremony and cocktail reception, in conjunction with its Annual General Meeting, was held on Thursday, Feb. 20, at the Mill Street Brew Pub in Toronto’s Distillery District.
Following an afternoon spent dealing with the day-to-day business of the organization, board members joined friends and guests for the awards ceremony and dinner and a chance to relax, network with friends and peers and honour members’ accomplishments.
The evening showcased and recognized projects that demonstrate superior performance in the manufacture and installation of architectural woodwork.
“This was our first time recognizing our members’ excellent work in six years and we felt it was high time that we celebrate this distinguished group of experts, artists and masters who have produced some of the most compelling pieces of architecture in this province,” chapter president Jeff Clermont said following the successful event.”
He added that the evening was a great way to showcase examples of the outstanding workmanship produced my AWMAC members as well as a change to meet the people behind these projects.
“We brought back the awards because we wanted to be able to recognize the excellent work that is being done and get our members more involved,” Clermont says and added he received numerous positive comments from attendees who said they really enjoyed the event.
