Hundreds of exhibitors displayed their wares at Xylexpo 2016.

The 25th edition of Xylexpo, held May 24-28 in Milan, Italy attracted more than 17,000 visitors, an increase of 14.2 per cent over the previous event, and affirmed its position as Italy’s largest event for the wood technology and wood-based materials industry.
The show also posted excellent results as far as international visitors are concerned attracting more than 5,000 woodworking professionals from abroad, up by 9.3 percent from 2014.
Also, some 12,344 industry professionals came to Xylexpo from all over Italy, as much as 16.3 percent more than in 2014 and 70.9 percent of all visitors.
“We are very satisfied with the results of the Milan exhibition”, says Dario Corbetta, exhibition director. “We saw many people in the aisles of Xylexpo, plenty of exhibitors and visitors; we breathed a different air, a better atmosphere; there was a climate of participation and real interest. I want to stress the fact that everyone was at Xylexpo this year, was ready to work together."
Clearly one of the keys to the success of the show is a rallying domestic market. Furthermore, organizers worked hard to put on an event where everyone could find answers to their questions, exhibitors as well as visitors.
On addition, organizers’ commitment to hosting a great show was combined with clarity. For the second event in a row, organizers counted heads instead of visits, real people instead of accesses, which means their visitors numbers reflect unique visitors. Europe was by far the main region of origin, with a 70.8 per cent share of visitors, followed by Asia (including Russia and Turkey) with 19.2 per cent, Americas (6 per cent), Africa (3 per cent) and Oceania (1 per cent).
Xylexpo 2016 hosted 441 exhibitors from 29 countries, over a total exhibition area of 320,000 sq. ft.
