The Wood Machinery Manufacturers of America (WMMA), the national trade association for machine manufacturers, cutting tools and supplies for the woodworking industry, has selected Dan Bond as its new Executive Director, effective Jan. 1.
Bond follows Fred String fellow, who has stepped down as executive director, but will continue to be involved through the WMMA/Stringfellow Management Group in a strategic capacity.
Bond said, “I am honoured to be selected as the next executive director of the Wood Machinery Manufacturers Association (WMMA). U.S. woodworking machinery and woodworking tool manufacturers, and the businesses that support them are an essential part of the U.S. manufacturing base.
“I look forward to contributing to the more than 100 year-old history of providing excellence in training, research, education, and diverse member programs and services.”
Bond has been busy the past few months getting up to speed on WMMA during the transition. He participated in the recent WMMA Executive Committee Retreat in Orlando, the IWF Management Committee Meeting in Atlanta; and he and Stringfellow conducted member visits to James L. Taylor Manufacturing, Williams & Hussey Machine Company, Air Handling Systems and Taunton Press, and he looks forward to future member visits. Bond joins WMMA with more than nine years of association management experience in senior leadership roles with the Synthetic Turf Council, Shipbuilders Council of America and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
