Mike Slobodian has been elected president of the Canadian Kitchen Cabinet Association at its National Forum in Niagara Falls, Ontario May 10-13.
Slobodian is the analytics and marketing manager with DÉCOR Cabinet Company in Morden, Manitoba.
Slobodian said he is looking forward to work for the association, which has seen steady “growth over the last number of years as we’ve worked to bring more value to the membership, whether through our Regional or National events.
“We have included great speakers and networking opportunities, our partner programs and partner relationships, as well as the Certification Program.
“Going forward we want to continue to work to increase our membership and look for more ways in which we, as an association, can bring value to the members.”
Slobodian said a very successful National Forum means that those in attendance were able to go back to their businesses with some great takeaway.
“As a matter of fact, I have heard a few comments in passing from others on how good the event was. The program line-up of speakers was well thought out and provided tour members with a lot of great content to consider.
“There were also many opportunities to reconnect with colleagues and form new relationships to share ideas and best practices. I personally think one of the key aspects of the CKCA is the ability to help bring those in our industry together to build relationships and share best practices because at the heart of most successful businesses are the relationships formed with others, customers, suppliers and manufacturers.”
He said on Thursday night, at the National Forum, participants heard from Kevin Tratt of Blum Canada and Mark Deltin of Frendel Kitchens about their long-standing relationship and how it contributed to their success.
“And during the tours I heard people talk about certain improvements that were made at their particular company based on what they learned at a previous CKCA event. That was not the first time I have heard this during an event and each time it just reinforces how important coming to the CKCA events can be to help find ways of improving your productivity.
As always, the manufacturers round table was also very good, it’s always great to see open dialogue and ideas shared among the manufacturing members.
