IMA Schelling Group U.S. and Barbaric introduce the RTS P-One.
IMA Schelling Group U.S. and Barbaric have collaborated to introduce the RTS P-One Intelligent Edgebanding Cell — a new system designed to help midsized production floors achieve the production of two edgebanders in less floor space.
“The new RTS P-One intelligent edgebanding cell is affordable for small to midsized woodworking operations,” said Peter Tuenker, general manager of IMA Schelling U.S. “Now you can offer Batch Size One flexibility and customization that your customers desire with more production output than two of your existing edgebanders can provide combined.”
The RTS P-One Intelligent Edgebanding Cell expands output by up to 50 per cent with limited downtime for material movement and stack changes with half the manpower required for traditional edgebanders. System elements include a single-sided Novimat Compact R3 edgebander, driven by IMA’s Intelligent Process Control.NETwork (IPC.NET), intuitive control software that is proven to drive automation, increase productivity in enterprise-level production and deliver unrivaled production control and custom flexibility. Barbaric integrates its high-powered and fully automated RTS professional return system with gantry and conveyor designed specifically for automated edgebanding systems to drive incredible productivity. Together, these advantages enable midsized woodworking operations to offer their customers true Batch Size One processing at a value.
Traditional cross-lift return edgebanding requires two operators and manual stacking of product, regularly runs empty during stacking and loading and can only run one job a at a time. The RTS P-One needs only one operator, requires no manual changeover, automatically returns parts needing further processing and de-stacks finished parts.
And because it can run different jobs at the same time at a rate of up to 10 parts per minute, the RTS P-One yields up to 50 per cent more productivity at maximum machine optimization.
