John Wilson
With more than 35 years of experience in the woodworking machinery industry, John Wilson has become the CEO of Ferwood USA and Ferwood UK, following a successful five-year consultancy role at Ferwood USA and seven-year position as managing director of Ferwood UK.
The decision to create a dedicated role in the US follows increased demand from the industry over the last 18-months. “The market for used machinery has grown rapidly since the pandemic, with Ferwood USA growing threefold in the last year alone,” begins John. “This surge in business has reinforced the need for Ferwood to have a dedicated management team and after sales division in the USA, strengthening our global operation even further.
Building on the experience and success gained from directly entering multiple markets across the world, Ferwood has been working closely with established machinery suppliers, spare part manufacturers and logistics experts in the US for the past five years. “I strongly believe forming relationships with key players in the industry has been crucial to the success of our business and will continue to help us create a strong business framework,” says John.
“It’s clear that the US has a massive appetite for the products and services we offer and I’m looking forward to building on our success and moving the company forward.”
