AWMAC’s Guarantee and Inspection Service (GIS) program will save you time, money, and provide quality assurance on your woodwork. It’s time to get started and guarantee your next project.
AWMAC’s GIS program is a national initiative that has evolved over the last two decades and is designed to ensure that quality architectural woodwork is delivered on every project. The program is administered through AWMAC chapters, on a per-project basis, and can be accessed from anywhere in Canada. AWMAC’s GIS guarantees architectural woodwork meets or exceeds industry standards through expert guidance and inspections by qualified industry specialists. Your project will be supported, reviewed and approved by an AWMAC certified inspector from the initial shop drawings through final installation. The GIS program includes four straightforward steps, access to certified inspectors, and gives you peace of mind.
The GIS process includes four steps. The first step in the GIS process is to specify AWMAC’s standards and GIS on your tender. The second step is to specify the AWMAC grade required on your project, which can be custom or premium, and will comply with AWMAC’s standards. On your third step, the AWMAC chapter will get involved and tracking begins, inspections and reports are completed and follow-up on compliance is conducted.
Once the supply and installation of the completed architectural woodwork complies with AWMAC’s standards, a two-year guarantee on the architectural woodwork will be issued to the AWMAC manufacturer member.
Throughout the GIS process, you’ll have access to an AWMAC certified GIS inspector, who is highly qualified and vetted; AWMAC’s inspectors have significant experience and knowledge in building construction, specifically architectural woodwork. Inspectors must pass AWMAC’s inspection certification exam, and go through a tiered training program, which includes hands-on experience under the supervision of an existing GIS inspector. The AWMAC certified GIS inspector plays a vital role in the GIS process, as they review the specifications and architectural drawings, ensure requirements and standards are being met, and give the final approval.
With every job you take on, large or small, there’s always a risk.
With AWMAC’s GIS program, you will have assurance that what’s specified is what gets built. An AWMAC inspection and guarantee isn’t just a stamp of approval, it’s the ultimate way to achieve peace of mind with those who matter to you most, your customers. AWMAC’s GIS program ensure project owners get value and quality for their investment by supporting project owners, general contractors, design professionals and woodwork manufacturers to achieve project plans and specification. The program provides  assurance that strict monitoring of the architectural woodwork requirements meets AWMAC’s architectural woodwork standards. You are achieving peace of mind and building trust and reputation at the same time.
The GIS program will support you from start to finish on every project, protect you from problems such as cost overruns and delays, your customers will get what they want, and you’ll be recognized as an industry leader. Through guarantee your project, specify GIS today. Get started at www.awmac.com/gis.
