The Wood Manufacturing Council (WMC) and the Woodworking Machinery & Supply Conference & Expo (WMS) are partnering once again to host the second WMS Student Day on Friday, Nov. 14, at the Toronto Congress Centre.
"WMS Student Day is a crucial initiative for the future of our industry," says Rich Christianson, conference director of WMS 2025.
WMS Student Day aims to introduce high school and post-secondary woodworking students to the cutting-edge technology, software, and materials shaping the woodworking industry.
The event will also showcase the diverse and rewarding career paths available within the sector. Instructors will have the opportunity to expand their industry knowledge and network with suppliers, woodworking professionals, and fellow educators.
"They'll witness the latest advancements in machinery and products, gaining a real understanding of the skills and expertise needed to succeed,” says Audra Denny, president of the WMC.
“We hope this exposure will spark their interest and encourage them to explore the many career possibilities within our vibrant sector."
WMS 2025, taking place Nov. 12-14, will feature a comprehensive exhibition of woodworking equipment and supplies, along with free educational sessions.
On Nov. 14, admission is free for students and their instructors.
