With outdoor living spaces continuing to be all the rage, leading paint brand Sico is making it easier than ever for Canadians to beautify their exterior decor with the launch of a line of one-coat “grab-and-go” wood stains.
Called Sico Formula 77, the new exterior semi-transparent wood stain and sealer is available in eight ready-mixed colours and can be applied at almost any temperature, on any type of exterior wood, leaving no runs, laps or marks.
“Wood staining is a complex process where it’s easy to make the mistake of either over-applying or under-applying the stain,” said Louis-Philippe Morand, senior marketing manager for Sico. “In today’s busy world, people want to get it right the first time and Sico Formula 77 has been designed to enable them to do so by making the staining process as fail proof as possible - for first-timers, Dyers, and pros alike.”
Developed using a unique oil-based formulation that boosts penetration and adhesion - the waterproof finish provides wood with maximum protection from Canada’s unpredictable and at times extreme weather, water, UV rays and dirt, while ensuring long-lasting colour retention.
Applied anywhere between 2-49° C, it’s formulated to resist mildew growth and protects against cracking, flaking and peeling.
Available in Burnt Hickory, Mission Brown, Dark Walnut, Pecan, Natural, Redwood, Natural Cedar, and Mahogany colours, the wood stain is well suited for decks, stairs, railings, sidings, shutters, doors, windows, fences and outdoor furniture. It’s ideal for cedar and pressure-treated wood, and can be applied on wood previously coated with a semi-transparent stain.
