Woodworking Technology Days, presented by the Canadian Woodworking Machinery Distributors Association (CWMDA), will feature 30 per cent more showroom space and more machinery.
This is the annual machinery event you don’t want to miss. This 6th edition will run for four days, Oct. 21 to 24, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. within members’ different showrooms, located in Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan and Cambridge.
WTD will bring you “More machinery, More demonstrations, More technology,” focusing on the new technology and automation that will help you compete.
Here is a brief overview of this year’s line-up of machines, many being shown for the first time in Canada.
HOLZ-HER/WEINIG: The best got even better. Introducing the Glu Jet 725 PUR Pro vacuum with HOLZ-HER patented sealed Glu Jet system, which allows to store the PUR for up to one week without purging; nothing else comes close. Normand: redesigned Pillar MMTJ-24 mortice and tenon machine featuring a new slim shaker profile system, handling parts as slim as an half-inch. Biesse: Rover Multi UP MG 1542, compact and versatile machining center, with the Toologic tool optimization and CFT system, for quick transition between the pod and rails configuration to the flat table; Felder: Tempora 1000 edgebander, setting new benchmarks for flexibility, with features like feed belt transport, CNC-controlled corner rounding unit and patented multi-radius cutterhead; HOMAG: A fully automated production system comprised of a Storeteq storage system, Centateq nesting CNC, Intelligent Automatech Robot, Drillteq Doweling and Edgeteq edgebander; all controlled by a single operator!; SCM: Olympic 500 edgebander, handling panels as narrow as 60mm, featuring dual radius profiling and the Maestro control with large touch screen Akhurst: Anderson Selexx Full Line CNC Router, a fully integrated automatic nesting line, greatly reduces cycle times by shortening the loading and unloading operations. IMA Schelling: Novimat R edgebander, for materials like high gloss, super matt, textured melamine with live demos with PUR glue; Taurus Craco: Fimal Concept 350 Plus, a beam saw with 45 degree tilting, represents the next evolution in panel sizing in terms of flexibility and increased capacity.
