This dynamic session – titled Machines Italia: Italian Technology at the Core of Smart Manufacturing - will explore how Italian innovation is reshaping Canadian manufacturing.
From automated systems and precision machinery to digitally integrated platforms, leading Italian firms will share how their technologies are enabling efficiency, sustainability, and Industry 4.0 transformation on the shop floor.
The event will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 29, at the Main Stage, Ballroom A at the Toronto Congress Centre
Attendees will hear concise, tech-focused spotlights from three key players with strong operations in Canada and learn how Italian-designed solutions are driving measurable results across industries.
Opening remarks will be delivered by Dr. Carlo Angelo Bocchi, director, Italian Trade Agency, who will talk about Italy’s industrial expertise and its growing impact on Canada’s manufacturing sector through innovation, sustainability, and partnership.
Following that, Sabrina Osmani, project manager, Italian Trade Agency, will provide a brief overview of Machines Italia as a platform that connects Italian technology leaders with Canadian manufacturers to drive innovation, efficiency, and long-term collaboration.
A Machines Italia Project video will offer a visual showcase of Italian machinery in action across Canadian sectors — highlighting how these technologies are already delivering results on the ground.

Yusuf Ali, president and managing director, will talk about how their advanced Italian-engineered workholding systems are improving precision and automation in Canadian CNC machining, particularly in the aerospace and automotive sectors.
Biesse Canada
Greg Gulesarian, CEO, Biesse Canada will discuss how Biesse provides advanced machinery and digital solutions for woodworking, glass, and stone processing. This spotlight will focus on woodworking technologies - such as CNC routers and edgebanders - and the SOPHIA IoT platform, which enables real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and smart factory integration for Canadian manufacturers.
