The Woodworking Technology Days event is approaching fast and Murat Dogan, president of IMA-Schelling Canada and CWMMA, says you don’t want to miss the 6th edition of this popular event.
We have grown WTD every year and this year we will once again offer the latest technology to help you reduce labour costs while increasing productivity and competitiveness.
Presented by the Canadian Woodworking Machinery Distributors Association (CWMDA), WTDs 6th edition will run for four days, Oct. 21-24, at members’ showrooms in Mississauga, Brampton and Cambridge.
Under the current market conditions it’s a bit difficult to predict what exactly will happen – however, the good thing is that we have established a strong event over the past few years, and anybody that is in the industry and in the market for some machinery or technology, knows exactly where to come,” says Dogan. “And that is the Woodworking Technology Days event in the Toronto area in the fall.
“We once again expect people to come from across the country – we already have registrations from Ontario and Quebec as well as British Columbia, so that is a nice to see.”
WTD put on a strong event last year and “we are confident that whoever is in the market for this year or next, and whoever wants to talk to experts, will once again be here talking to us.”
Dogan adds organizers encourage visitors to preregister “for our event to maximize their opportunity to meet with the people they want to meet.
“Our registration page is an easy way to get information and to book your spot to maximize your visit. It also gives you information about our members.
"We have nine showrooms and about a 30 per cent increase in showroom space over last year. Felder and Biesse will be presenting in their brand new facilities and HOLZHER-WEINIG just opened their new showroom last year.“I also would like to remind people – even though this is our sixth edition, there are always first-time visitors – about the concept of our event. It is like a kind of open house hopping. There are nine showroom located within a short driving distance of one another, from 15 to 45 minutes. So imagine you are at a tradeshow, but instead of walking from booth to booth, you basically drive from showroom to showroom. That is our unique concept and it has been very well received.”“I am not aware of anything else like it worldwide in our industry,” he says, “and I think there is a bit of Canadian pride in there for having such a unique event. So rather than having all these separate open houses on different dates, here our industry has come together to have it all at the same time and that’s a win-win for everybody.
And WTD is not just about machinery, it is also a place where you can see the latest services, anything from software and tooling to adhesives and automation, co-locating at member showrooms. So again, there is a lot to be seen and discussed at WTD 2025.
The event is quite different from a generalist trade show, with a formula favouring a more personalized and professional approach, giving visitors the opportunity to discuss their applications with product specialists.
WTD promises more machinery, more demonstrations and more technology.
