More than 200 customers, vendors and industry experts attended C.R. Onsrud's Demo Day at the company's offices and showroom in Troutman, North Carolina on March 25.
C.R. Onsrud, a manufacturer of American-made CNC machinery, brought together more than 200 customers, vendors and industry experts for its 2026 Demo Day at its offices and showroom in Troutman, North Carolina on March 25.
The company featured more than a dozen live demonstrations, enabling attendees to experience CNC technology first hand.
“We tried to have something for everyone, so we used a wide range of materials, processing techniques, and machine types,” said Jeff Onsrud, director of sales & business development.
On the A-Series machine — the newest machine in the C.R. Onsrud lineup — they showed how to make MDF 3D wall panels, aluminum gears, and PVC sign letters. They also made linear profile extrusion components and a phenolic tool bench organizer (M-Series), a melamine cabinet nest (T-Series), and plywood furniture frames (RH-Series). Additionally, they demonstrated steel cutting and friction stir welding (CH-Series) as well as several other CNC processing techniques.
By adding an 83,000-sq. ft. building to its campus last year, C.R. Onsrud was able to accommodate more visitors and hopes to grow the attendance even more next year.
“We’re glad we have the space to invite more visitors and vendors. It’s important to offer events that keep manufacturers connected and sharing ideas,” said Thomas Tuck, senior manager of regional sales and marketing initiatives.
The event also featured a factory tour and a demonstration of the inverted router, which was invented by Charlie Onsrud and launched the company 50 years ago. In a celebration, Tom Onsrud spoke about the 50-year journey: from small pin routers to CNC, which range from 2′x2′ to 20′x100′+.
C.R. Onsrud, Inc., specializes in CNC machining centers, CNC routers, CNC mills, and inverted routers along with providing a full line of tooling and accessories for CNC machinery.
Celebrating the company’s 50th anniversary, CEO Tom Onsrud speaks about its growth from building Inverted Pin Routers in a 20,000 sq. ft. facility to manufacturing CNC machines on their current 250,000 sq. ft. campus.
