In a surprise announcement, Bestar, which said just a few weeks ago that it would cease all operations, now says it will officially resume operations at its Lac-Mégantic manufacturing facility shortly. The company will operate under the leadership of a new entity, Bestar 2026.
Here is the official company statement:
“We are pleased to announce the official resumption of Bestar's operations starting next week, at our Lac-Mégantic facility.
This relaunch marks the beginning of a new chapter for the company, now led by Bestar 2026, and reflects the confidence of our financial partners, our customers, our suppliers, and our entire team.
“We would like to sincerely thank:
• Our customers, for their patience and loyalty over the past months;
• Our suppliers, for their support and their willingness to resume the partnership;
• Our employees, whose resilience, expertise, and dedication remain the heart of Bestar.
“This resumption would not have been possible without the involvement of the various stakeholders connected to the liquidation process, who enabled us to present to the Superior Court of the district of Saint-François in Lac-Mégantic an urgent application for Bestar's assets to be vested in the entity now taking over operations. We sincerely thank them for their availability, their expertise, and their efficiency.
“It is through this collective collaboration that we will write the next pages of Bestar's story together and make this relaunch a true success.
“We look forward to getting back on the road alongside you.”
