In order to better position itself in the local, national and international markets, with a more attractive image that is much more representative of the company, Scierie Mobile Gilbert (SMG) has just launched its new website in addition to partially redesigning some of its products.
Following investments of more than $45,000.00, the new website now gives users the opportunity to watch videos demonstrating the design quality, ease of use, and productivity of SMG sawmills.
Photos of each available sawmill model and other motorized equipment used for processing logs have been added to the videos. These are accompanied by pictograms that make online shopping easier by summarizing important points for the consumer such as log size and length, available power options, productivity and additional accessories.
All products and accessories have also undergone a thorough review, including professional photography and a much more detailed description.
For SMG retailers, the development of electronic manuals, with step-by-step illustrations of each motorized piece of equipment, also represents a major shift designed to make their work easier.
On the design side, the product design and development team has tackled the mechanical aspects and visual identification of the sawmills. The front panels, previously divided into three sections, were combined into a single piece mounted on a hinge to facilitate easier maintenance, such as blade replacement.
Having redesigned the front panel as a single piece also provided an opportunity to rethink the visual identification, making it more dynamic, while also referencing the forest with a more stylized design.
Although already very rigid, the structure of the mobile cart has been further reinforced to give it even more strength ensuring much more precise cutting, which has contributed to the solid reputation of Scierie Mobile Gilbert.
Various mechanical elements, present on the mobile cart and intended for the operation of the sawmill, have been integrated into its structure for aesthetic reasons and to provide better visibility for the operator for an even more precise cut, helping to minimize wood waste.
For Sylvain Labrie, CEO of SMG, the new website and the partial redesign of certain products represent an important improvement in line with the company's core values of innovation and excellence.
Although its products are exported worldwide, from a growth perspective, SMG is focusing specifically on retailers in Quebec, other Canadian provinces and countries with abundant forests.
Founded in 1997, Scierie Mobile Gilbert designs and manufactures all of its products in its factory located on Wilfrid-Hamel Boulevard, in L’Ancienne-Lorette, and employs about twenty people.
Its products are distributed through a network of retailers in Quebec and Ontario as well as in Alsace.
