MaTec 2026,anew trade fair initiative for plastics, wood-furniture and composite materials - representing a significant share of Italian manufacturing – was well received by visitors and exhibitors.
The new exhibition platform brings together Plast, the show dedicated to machinery and materials for the plastics and rubber industry, Xylexpo, the biennial event for wood technology and the furniture industry, and Composites Future, the first edition of the “Made in Italy” conference-exhibition dedicated to composite materials.
MaTec had a successful debut with some 45,000 attendees was recorded in the four days of the event, which was held June 9-12, at the FieraMilano expo center, including 25 percent – more than 11,000 – from abroad.
In a business period strongly impacted by a really complicated global geopolitical scenario, the three exhibitions offered a valuable networking opportunity, also thanks to an intensive agenda of events, insights, roundtable discussions and meetings that expanded the business focus.
The results were encouraging also for Xylexpo and Composites Future: Just above 10,000 visitors in halls 14 and 18, where the biennial exhibition of wood-furniture technologies and the expo-conference dedicated to composite materials covered a 15,000 square-meters.
The combination of different industries turned out to be a successful move, to the benefit of exhibitors who appreciated the new format.
“The wood technology business and the entire economy are experiencing years of big difficulties that are also affecting exhibitions all over the world,” said Dario Corbetta, Xylexpo director.
“We will continue to design exhibition formats that meet the requirements of industry companies, who are approaching these events with an attitude and needs that are totally different from the past.”
