Mount Storm Forest Products will continue to operate under its established name and market identity, maintaining existing customer and supplier relationships, local support and product expertise.
Hardwoods, a flagship brand of ADENTRA Inc., announced that Mount Storm Forest Products has joined Hardwoods effective Aug. 3.
The acquisition brings together two respected organizations with shared commitments to quality products, dependable service, strong supplier partnerships and long-term customer relationships.
Founded in 1980, Mount Storm Forest Products has grown into a respected Northern California supplier of hardwood lumber, architectural panels, plywood, millwork, mouldings and specialty woodworking products. The company operates from a 90,000-square-foot facility in Windsor, California, serving customers throughout Northern California and the San Francisco Bay Area with extensive product knowledge, value-added milling capabilities, and responsive local service.
Mount Storm will continue to operate under its established name and market identity, maintaining existing customer and supplier relationships, local support and product expertise, and the same quality and service model that has made the company successful for more than four decades. Customers and suppliers can expect business continuity with existing products, contacts, day-to-day operations, customer support, and service unchanged.
Mount Storm’s experienced 33-person team, modern facility, milling equipment, warehouse capabilities and delivery fleet strengthen Hardwoods’ ability to support customers across the region. As part of ADENTRA, North America’s largest wholesale distributor of architectural building products to the residential and commercial construction sectors, Hardwoods brings additional scale, resources, technology, and investment to support Mount Storm’s continued growth.
“Mount Storm has established itself as one of the premier hardwood lumber, panel, millwork and specialty building products distributors in Northern California,” said Nick Smith, regional vice president, Hardwoods West. “The company’s long operating history, market reputation, outstanding leadership, industry stewardship, experienced team, exceptional customer relationships, geographic location, and in-house milling capabilities make it an outstanding addition to Hardwoods and ADENTRA. This new addition continues our goal to be the preferred architectural building products distributor across North America.
"Both companies share the same values of operational excellence, building lasting customer and supplier relationships, supplying world-class products, continued improvement, and being a great place to work," Smith added. "We look forward to supporting the Mount Storm team and building upon the foundation that Ed Mikowski and his team have created.”
Under the new ownership structure, Jim MacInnis will serve as branch manager, reporting to Mike Couture, senior general manager for California and Arizona. Existing leadership and operating teams will remain in place to help ensure a seamless transition for customers and suppliers. Ed Mikowski and Debbie Deaton will continue in consultative roles for a defined transition period to support continuity and preserve the strengths that have made Mount Storm successful.
“What impressed us most was the quality of the operation and the team behind it. Mount Storm combines deep product inventory, specialized milling and manufacturing capabilities, a modern facility, and a highly experienced workforce that has earned the trust of customers throughout Northern California,” said Couture. “Our focus will be to preserve everything customers value about Mount Storm while providing additional resources, product opportunities, technology and investment that can help accelerate future growth.”
The acquisition aligns with ADENTRA’s long-term growth strategy of investing in leading regional distributors that share the same commitment to customer success, supplier partnerships, operational excellence, world-class products, technology, and employee opportunity.
Customers and suppliers should continue conducting business through their existing Mount Storm contacts. Additional information will be communicated directly as needed throughout the transition.
