Peter Mate, president of Planit Canada talks about the latest edition of Cabinet Vision.
Planit and Hettich’s joint Technology Event held on Nov. 5, at Hettich Canada’s offices and showroom in Concord Ont. was very well received.
“This was the first time we had such an event and I think it worked out great,” says Peter Mate, president of Planit Canada.
“We wanted to organize a joint event to demonstrate some of the new technologies that are available to make manufacturer’s lives easier.”
“The idea was to take a break from production, get out of the shop and have a look at what’s new, from software to hardware and better ways to run your business.”
Mate says the day was such a success that, “we are looking to continue to hold more events with our partners right across Canada.”
“It was really good, it was a great event,” says Don Penner, sales manager with Hettich Canada.
“We had more than 60 people participate and I was talking to most of them when they were leaving at the end of a very informative day and everyone told me they had a great time and learned something new.
“That’s really good to hear because that’s why we organized this.”
The day featured technology designed to improve every phase of the production process. From software such as Cabinet Vision 9.0, to hardware and machines such as Hettich’s InnoFit N. Also, Lignum Consulting’s Sepp Gmeiner talked about the importance of benchmarking your company. The afternoon session talked about eLaser measuring, SMART production planning and much, much more.
“Everybody had good things to say about the event,” Penner says.
“In fact one customer told me they use a different brand of hardware and only really came here to hear one specific presentation. But he told me later he wanted to hear more about our InnoFit N machine.”
“It was a really good event,” Mate says, “we had something new or interesting for everyone, something they can put to good use and that’s what this was all about.”
