The B.C. Chapter of the Architectural Woodwork Manufacturers Association of Canada celebrated its 24th Annual Awards of Excellence in style on Sept. 18.
More than 300 members, architects, designers, contractors and friends attended the popular event, which was held at the Vancouver Convention Centre West.
The evening started off at 5 p.m. with wine and appetizers and was followed at 6:15 p.m. by the awards presentations and dinner.
In the Export category, the Excellence in Service, Gold Award was awarded for the Microsoft Executive Briefing Center, Redmond, WA. Nikolai Manufacturing, HOK Architects, JS Perrott/Sellen Construction.
In the Residential category, the Overall Excellence in Quality+Service, Gold Award was presented for Private Residence, Whistler, B.C., Seagull Enterprises, Mitchell Freedland Design, EVR Fine Homes.
In the Large Commercial category, the ED Fielder Award for Overall Excellence in Quality+Service, Gold Award was awarded for the Aritzia Guildford Town Centre, Walton's Wood Working, Aritzia LP, Cary Connors Projects.
In the Small Commercial category, the ED Russel Award for Overall Excellence in Quality+Service, Gold Award was presented for Private Office Vancouver, Seagull Enterprises, Proscenium Architecture + Interiors, CDC Construction.
The Architect/Designer Award, the Jack Sigurdson Award, was presented for
Showcase Restaurant & Bar | Marriott Hotel, Vancouver, Towne Millwork, False Creek Design Group, Mondiale Development.
Above and Beyond Award
In addition, the evening also saw the presentation of the annual Above and Beyond Award.
This year’s winner is Martin Berryman of Wanes Custom Woodworks in Burnaby, B.C.
The recipient of this award is chosen by their peers, as the individual who has shown the highest level of personal dedication to the association during the past year.
