SCM Group Canada's Gary McEwen, back, talks to a customer during SCM Days.
SCM Canada held its SCM Days event at its Mississauga, Ont. showroom and headquarters June 5-6.
The two-day open house and educational event offered hands-on seminars on the advantages of using the latest SCM Group technology, including the Pratix S router with offloading system, the full line of reliable SCM edgebanders and their newest L’invincibile sliding table saw, as well as a full range of other woodworking equipment.
The showroom was well stocked with dozens of the latest machines and live machine demonstrations were offered on everything from the K320 edgebander with and without pre-milling unit, K400 edgebander, K560 edgebander with pre-mill, Pratix S CNC machine center with automatic offloading feature, the SI L’invincibile sliding table saw, to a full line of Classical and Minimax machinery.
Richard Bluteau, president of SCM Group Canada, was pleased with the event and said they had a number of serious customers stop in and check out the latest machinery and talk to their product experts.
“Of course we would always like to welcome even more people, but it was a good event and we sold a number of machines, which is great.”
Bluteau adds that while their showroom is of course always open, they like to put on these special events to offer live machine demonstrations on a wide selection of equipment and give their customers a chance to talk to all their product experts, which are there to answer questions.
“I think its always good to offer something a little bit different, a special event like this, to get people to come out, get away from the shop and take a few hours to see what’s available now.”
