IMA-Schelling Canada held an open house event at their offices and showroom in Mississauga, Ontario Nov 5-7, for live laser edgebanding demonstrations with the affordable new IMALUX laser system designed for small to medium size shops. “Our main focus for this event was to show our new laser edgebanding system that we introduced at LIGNA this year,” says IMA Canada President Murat Dogan.”
“As part of the event we demonstrated the machine on gloss cabinet doors, especially white on white high gloss cabinet doors, which are the most difficult to do.”
Dogan says there was a lot of interest in the new machine, which was designed specifically for edgebanding and at 1/3 the price of previous laser units it is drawing a lot of attention.
“We had more than 50 customers come out for this event and this was the first time this unit has been shown in North America.”
Dogan says they will start taking orders for the new laser edgebander early in 2016.
“We had a very good event and from talking to customers I am hearing good news about the economy, the cabinet industry is getting busy again and that is good news for everyone,” he says. “There is a lot of interest in machinery and for many customers it makes laser edgebanding and the resulting quality a real possibility because of the dramatically lower cost.”
