CCI Media has named woodworking industry veteran, Harry Urban, Business Development Director. Urban will manage the Woodworking Machinery & Supply Conference and Expo (WMS) to be held in Toronto Nov. 2-4, 2017.
Urban has more than 30 years of experience in business-to-business publishing, trade shows and conferences. Urban coordinated the acquisition of the WMS – Canada’s largest event for the secondary woodworking market -- by Vance Publishing in 2006.
Urban served as editor and publisher of Wood & Wood Products – formerly owned by Vance Publishing - and led its expansion into events and other ventures. In this role, Urban travelled extensively throughout North America and overseas visiting and reporting on major manufacturing facilities and trade shows.
He has also served as the vice president Events/Design Group for Scranton Gillette Communications where he managed all face-to-face and virtual events for publications related to infrastructure, horticulture, home furnishings, building and architecture.
“I am excited to be back working in the Canadian woodworking industry again and to renew old friendships. Our CCI team is committed to making WMS 2017 the best yet. We look forward to hosting WMS in the newly remodeled International Centre with more exhibit space and an expanded conference.”
