“It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of our long-time employee, Don Penner,” says Hettich Canada.
“Don passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by family, on Thursday, Dec. 28. For the past five months, Don had been fighting a brave and courageous battle with brain cancer.
Don, 55, was an outstanding father and husband. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 31 years, Cathy, whom he cherished and adored for 35 years. Together, they have two amazing and loving sons, Mitchel and Michael. Don loved his boys dearly, and was so proud to watch them grow up into fine young men. Don will also be sadly missed by his extended family, dear friends and colleagues.
Don had been a valued member of our team since Feb. 7, 1994. During his 23 years at Hettich, Don’s dedication, hard work and success contributed greatly to the growth of both Hettich Canada and USA.
Don was an inspiration to so many people, and he will be deeply missed.
In lieu of a funeral, a celebration of Don’s life will be held in the spring of 2018 for family and friends.
Please consider a donation in his memory to the Sunnybrook Hospital, the RVH Regional Cancer Centre in Barrie or a charity important to you.”
