An Oakville company has adapted its production to make much-needed hospital equipment to help with the coronavirus pandemic.
According to CTV News, Astound, which usually manufactures exhibit booths for conferences, has responded to an urgent call from St. Michaels Hospital in Toronto to build screens for frontline workers screening patients for COVID-19.
Company vice-president Andrew Pittman has been quoted as saying that the company dropped everything working on the safe booths with a plexiglass front screen to keep healthcare workers safe while taking information from patients.
Governments at all levels have asked manufacturers to consider retooling to produce much needed equipment and supplies to help fight the virus.
