Share this story

Following Ontario’s declaration of a state of emergency to shut down all non-essential services to curb the spread of COVID-19, the province has now released a list of essential workplaces that will be allowed to stay open.
All teleworking and online commerce are of course permitted at all times and for all businesses.
The list of essential workplaces is long, you can access it here:

Of course all emergency services and retailers of food, pet food and supplies will be allowed to remain open.
And, according to the Bluewater Wood Alliance, their MPP has indicated that the business in #19 and #28 - see below - will also be allowed to continue, but only if they can maintain social distancing and sanitizing practices to maintain a safe workplace.

19 - Businesses that extract, manufacture, process and distribute goods, products, equipment and materials, including businesses that manufacture inputs to other manufacturers (e.g. primary metal/ steel, blow molding, component manufacturers, chemicals, etc. that feed the end-product manufacturer);

28 - Construction work and services, including demolition services, in the industrial, commercial, institutional and residential sectors;

Here is the list for essential services and activities in Quebec.

This is a developing story, more to come.
