HOMAG Canada issues Fill a Makor Challenge.

HOMAG Canada has come up with a creative way to support local communities with its Fill a Makor Challenge.
Marco Fernandes, HOMAG Canada’s managing director, said they were talking in the office about how they can support their local communities in these difficult times and have come up with the idea of a challenge to help people in need.
“So we decided to use one of our Makor finishing machines and issue a challenge to fill it with non-perishable food items for local food banks.
“We decided to call it the “Fill a Makor Challenge” and we will challenge other HOMAG sales and service companies to do the same so they can also support their local communities around the world,” Fernandes said.
“The food we collect will be donated to families in need and local food banks.
“Once we’ve completed our challenge, we will donate the food to the Orangeville food bank here in the GTA and an undetermined food bank in Montreal.”
The challenge will begin on Monday, May 4, and continue until the end of the month.
“I would like to see HOMAG employees participate along with industry and industry partners by either dropping off food between our front doors at either of our two locations, or by making a monetary,” Fernandes said.
Weekly updates will be sent out via social media and we will see which office can fill their Makor first.”
Please see the list of items food banks are typically looking for below.
The Toronto office is located at 5090 Edwards Blvd. in Mississauga, Ont.
(905)-670-1700 or 1-800-797-8231.
The Montreal office is located at 160 Rue Brunet in Mont St. Hilaire, Que.
(450)-536-2525 or 1-800-797-8231.
And while the offices are closed to walk-in customers, they are fully operational and open by appointment.
However, for any donations in support of the food drive, the outer doors are unlocked and donations can be dropped off without appointment.

Donations can be made one of two ways:
- Drop off between front doors at Montreal or Mississauga locations or
